Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies bring the beloved romantic comedy-drama to theaters for a 70th anniversary celebration March 13 and 17
WHAT: The acclaimed John Ford classic The Quiet Man features John Wayne as a retired boxer who makes a pilgrimage to his home village in Ireland. He meets his match in a spirited young woman (Maureen O’Hara), only to find himself confronted by her belligerent brother and the town’s strict customs.
The Quiet Man garnered the Best Director Academy Award® for Ford, as well as the Oscar® for Best Cinematography, Color. Considered by many to be one of Ford’s best films, The Quiet Man was also included on the AFI’s list of 100 greatest love stories of all time.
This special anniversary screening includes exclusive pre- and post-film commentary, presented by TCM Primetime Host Ben Mankiewicz.
